Assistive Devices Program (ADP)
Ontario Ministry of Health
The Ministry of Health and Long Term Care of Ontario offers funding for Ontario residents to purchase their most basic and essential mobility devices required for use around the home (and community). Applicants must require the device for their mobility within the home in order to qualify. This may include forearm crutches, standard walkers, rollators, manual wheelchairs, power wheelchairs and scooters. Assessment is required by an Authorizer (that's us!) and requires a valid OHIP card.
ADP also provides some funding for basic communication devices, prescribed at the community level. Our therapist is an Individual Authorizer for Communication Aids and can help you determine the right communication aid for your needs.
